Get to Know Kacey Wasson
Dedicated to the Art of Theatre
While earning my BFA in Technical Theatre and Production, I went down multiple paths before finding my passion.
I spent my first two years studying interior design with a minor in technical theatre. Although I gained a very strong foundation in design and drafting skills, this wasn't fulfilling enough for me.
I took a few classes for my minor and remembered how my heart belongs to theatre . So I changed my major to technical theatre and persued scenic design.
I spent my next two years following a scenic design path where I gained the opportunity to design a couple of productions at Texas State and a few outside gigs for venues across the country.
Having accidentally done some outside TD work, I decided that this is what I am truly passionate about and spent my final semester probing as much information out of my mentor as possible.
While jumping between paths, I spent a lot of time in carpentry, props, paint, and lighting to be versatile and understand all areas of the magic we call theatre.
